Have your say on sport and play!
Winchester City Council is going on the road to offer residents the chance to have their say on the City Council's vision for sport and recreation in the Winchester District.
As part of the consultation for the Sports and Recreation Strategy, four road shows are being held around the District to give residents an opportunity to comment on how the City Council is going to:
- Increase physical activity levels in adults and children
- Reduce levels of obesity
- Increase the number of volunteers and coaches in sport and recreation
- Improve access to high quality sport and recreation facilities
The council want to hear from all kinds of clubs, societies and schools, as well as from individuals who take a keen interest in recreational activities.
Cllr Therese Evans, Portfolio Holder for Culture, Heritage and Sport said, "These road shows offer a great opportunity for residents of the District to make their views heard on their local recreational facilities provided. In order to tackle issues such as obesity and to encourage us all to become more actively involved in sport, it is vital that the Council is aware of the thoughts of the community .Please come along to the road shows and tell us what you think."
