Festive Cheer for Conference Winchester
The Winchester Royal Hotel gave a warm welcome to members of the Conference Winchester consortium of meeting venues and their guests as they enjoyed a traditional Christmas lunch with all the trimmings on Thursday 8 December.
Hosting the lunch, Hannah Lane, Conference Operations Manager at the University of Winchester and chair of Conference Winchester said,"Christmas is a time for celebration and it's great to share this festive lunch with our members and guests to celebrate a successful year. It's also a time when businesses are looking ahead to 2006. They want to make sure plans are in place for their events, conferences and meetings and that's where we can help"
She continued, "The Conference Winchester consortium prides itself on the ease and efficiency of the service it offers to meeting organisers as part of its venue-finding operation. This includes unusual ideas for corporate hospitality and team building activities; itinerary building for partner programmes, and a whole range of technical and event management assistance on the day. The service is absolutely free, which many first-time clients can't quite believe."
Some of the guests at the lunch were hearing about Conference Winchester for the first time. They included staff from Learning Through Landscapes, Western Circuit and the National Childminding Association. They were able to meet and chat with representatives from some of the many wonderful venues in the Winchester District, as well as Jenny Mosley, business development officer for Conference Winchester and Valerie Greenwood from the tourism service of Winchester City Council.
Stuart Warman from the National Childminding Association was most impressed and said, "I will certainly be making use of the Conference Winchester one-stop shop for future bookings. It will save me many hours searching the internet, and calling venues so it's great to know the service is there"
