Basque artist exhibition at the view

Spanish artist Ziortza Portuondo Campos has an exhibition "The Waiting Room" at the view arts showcase on Bridge Street, Winchester, until November 11.

Ziortza studied Fine Art in Bilbao in Spain's Basque country and finished her degree in 2002 as an exchange student at The Winchester School of Art. She now continues to live and work in Winchester.

She has been continuing to develop her strong and distinctive graphic style as part of the Trinity Art Group, where she is also able to exchange ideas with other artists.

Ziortza is interested in all kinds of art, but particularly enjoys experimental explorations in drawing and painting.

"The Waiting Room is a collection of Conte Pastel drawings inspired by real people deep in thought. They are caught in a transitory melancholic daydream, quietly waiting...who knows for what?" she says.

the view shows work created by people resident or working in the Winchester District, either studying or beginning careers in visual arts or craft making. If you are interested in exhibiting at the view, please contact Winchester City Council's arts development officer Marilyn Michalowicz on 01962 848175 email mmichalowicz@winchester.gov.uk
