Barton Farm under the spotlight
Barton Farm will be under the spotlight again on 14 October when there is a Public Forum discussion as part of Winchester City Council's Local Plan Inquiry.Cala Homes, who have asked for the site to be included for development in the new Local Plan, will present their case before the Planning Inspectors, while representatives of the Save Barton Farm Group will state their objections.
Council planning officers will explain why they feel the Winchester North Major Development Area should remain just that, a Reserve Area.
Each of these three groups will have 20 minutes to address the Inspector. Objectors to the Local Plan who requested an appearance before the deadline passed on 4 February 2004 may also ask questions of the presenters.
Although members of the public may attend as observers, only those who have previously objected to the Local Plan and requested an appearance will be allowed to speak at the Inquiry.
The Public Forum will be held at Winchester Guildhall starting at 10.00am and ending promptly at 1.00pm.
