Youth Theatre seeks guiding light
Denmead Youth Theatre is looking for an Assistant Tutor to help with its work as part of Winchester Rural Youth Theatres, creating and maintaining performing arts activities for young people in the rural parishes.
Denmead Youth Theatre meets at Denmead Community Centre on Friday evenings during term time. There is currently one class, running from 6.30 – 8pm for those of 8 years and over.
The role of the Assistant Tutor will be to support the lead tutor in both drama workshop and performance work. Marilyn Michalowicz, Winchester City Council's Arts Development Officer, said, "This role is ideal for someone who is energetic, flexible and willing to ‘muck in’ with a wide variety of drama activities. The ability to create a good rapport with young people and having an interest in helping to develop their creative potential will also be vital skills.
"This role would be excellent for someone who is keen to gain work experience with young people, or is an interested parent. We pay a fee for this freelance work, and there is the possibility of occasional additional hours if desired," she added
Applicants will need to be over 18, be prepared to undergo a Criminal Records Bureau check, and preferably drive a car.
Winchester City Council and Hampshire County Council fund Winchester Rural Youth Theatres.
