Take a look at the view
Don’t miss the last few days of Suzy Merrifield’s exhibition in the view, Winchester’s new visual arts space in Bridge Street.
Suzy studied textile design at Winchester School of Art and her display includes her unique handmade textile pieces for both fashion and interiors. Inspired by microscopic and macrocosmic views of the world, Suzy’s knitwear playfully combines magnified cell structures with miniaturised views of the earth. Suzy’s exhibition can be seen until 23 February.
From 24 February until 23 March passers by can see work created and installed into the shop window by Fine Art Sculpture student Margaret Sturton.
Fairytales and comic strips influence Margaret’s work and she is currently exploring the illusion of movement in a still image and the description of time in cartoons.
the view is managed and funded by Winchester City Council with the help of artist and teacher Ali Eales, and is for the display of new work created by students and early career artists and craft makers.
