Chestnuts for Charity
David and Amelia Cole, who run the 'hot chestnut' stall next to The Buttercross in Winchester High Street, presented a cheque for £200 to the Mayor of Winchester as a donation to her Charities.
The couple has given the donation as a thank you to the city for letting them trade over the Christmas period. This is the second year that the couple has donated to the Mayor's Charities, much to the delight of the current Mayor, Cllr Mrs Jean Hammerton.
"It is wonderful that members of the business community want to donate so generously to help four very worthy causes, and I am delighted to accept this cheque," she said.
The hot chestnut stall will be trading in the city over Christmas and New Year periods.
