News from Winchester City Council affects residents living across 250 square miles. Because the district covers a large area people read a variety of newspapers and listen to different radio stations to find out what is going on.
Newspapers and magazines
The Hampshire Chronicle covers the city of Winchester as well as neighbouring towns and villages. Its sister paper The Daily Echo is based in Southampton and also covers news stories from Winchester. The News is a Portsmouth-based daily paper with editions covering Fareham and Meon and Waterlooville and East Hampshire which include news from towns in the south of the district.
Other newspapers and magazines covering Winchester or parts of the district area include the Mid Hants Observer, Winchester Today, Petersfield Post, Romsey Advertiser, Hampshire Life and Hampshire - The County Magazine.
Radio stations
The district is covered by a range of radio stations including BBC Radio Solent, Jack FM, The Breeze, Wave, Heart and Capital South Coast.
