Language Support
Some people will need help from language translation services - If you visit a Winchester City Council office or have an appointment to see an officer and need the translation service let us know and we will arrange for an interpreter to interpret for you, either in person or over the phone. If an interpreter is not available we will arrange another appointment for you.
Winchester City Council will:
- support you with face-to-face or telephone interpretation
- provide you with help and information about using translation services
- look for ways to improve the service
Translation services will be provided through professional translators and interpreters. The translation service will always be confidential. You should only use adult family members or friends as translators after the option of professional support has been offered. Children should never be used as interpreters.
