New council housing - Hiller Way, Abbotts Barton, Winchester

H H Drew started on site in September 2016. They are currently putting in concrete piling for the new homes. 

They have now provided a temporary footpath to enable residents to cross the grass to Hiller Way. Please take care when using the footpath. A temporary ramp can be requested until the dropped kerb on Hiller Way is approved by HCC and installed by H H Drew.

General information 

The Council appointed Design Engine architects to design the new affordable houses which gained planning permission in February 2016.

All of the homes, which will be owned and managed by the Council, are for affordable rent and comprises of:

3 x 3 bedroom houses
3 x 2 bedroom houses
3 x 2 bedroom duplex houses
4 x 1 bedroom apartments

A Community Lettings Plan will be agreed for the homes to enable sensitive lettings which will include priority for people with a local connection to Abbotts Barton.

HH Drews have been appointed as the principal contractor for the building work. Their architects have submitted detailed drawings and information to discharge the pre-commencement planning conditions.

HH Drews took possession of the site in June 2016 and commenced on site in September 2016. You can download plans of the new scheme at the bottom of this page.
