Railways and Religion in Victorian England

Tue 04/07/17 7:00 pm

Much has been written by historians on both Victorian religion and Victorian railways. The many interconnections between them, however, have been largely ignored. This lecture opens up a very fruitful field of investigation by showing how in so many ways religion and railways developed alongside, and underpinned, each other in the nineteenth century.
The lecture will be given by Professor Roger Richardson, Emeritus Professor of History at the University of Winchester.

Tickets are £5 available from the Cathedral Box Office
