Hampshire Writers' Society - Gala Evening

Tue 14/06/16 6:00 PM - 9:45 PM

The novelists Chris Cleave and Clare Morrall will be the speakers at the Gala Evening of
the Hampshire Writers’ Society on Tuesday in the Stripe Theatre Auditorium, University of Winchester.
Just as the Hampshire Writers’ Society began its 2015/16 season with a double bill,
featuring M. J. Arlidge and James Marrison, so it ends its season this month with
another double bill. It is an opportunity to showcase new work in fiction. Both Chris
Cleave and Clare Morrall have published their latest novels, with Hodder and
Stoughton, earlier this year. They are the authors of, respectively, 'Everyone Brave Is
Forgiven' and 'When the Floods Came'. Taken together, these works offer an intriguing
combination of historical and post-apocalyptic fiction. All are welcome to attend this
showcase of new work.
Please note that from 6.00 – 7.30 p.m there will be a book fair, in the foyer
of the Stripe Theatre, with free admission (including free strawberries and cream),
where some of the published authors amongst the HWS membership will display their
books – all of which will be available for sale, as well as signings.
