Tudor Music at the Westgate

Sun 12/06/16 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Drop in to the Westgate and experience the music of Shakespeare's time.

In this anniversary year of the death of Shakespeare, drop in to the Westgate Museum
and listen to members of Courtlye Musick present music of his time. Free event.
Like Sir Andrew Aguecheek in Twelfth Night, Courtlye Musick play, “o’ the
viol-de-gamboys” (amongst many others) fashionable music and songs for the court
and nobility as well as ballads and dance tunes known to the groundlings attending the
Globe Theatre. Instruments and music of the period evoke the time and place that was
Shakespeare’s England.
