The 2016 Vice Chancellors Internationalisation Lecture by Dr Fiona Bartels-Ellis OBE

The British Council and the University of Winchester share a commitment to diversity.
Whilst embracing and engaging with diversity presents opportunities, within an international context there are distinct challenges. The 2016 Vice Chancellor’s Internationalisation Enterprise Lecture will draw on the British Council’s experience and address the opportunities and the challenges in the spirit of the University’s commitment to enquiry and nurturing a global outlook.
Dr Fiona Bartels-Ellis OBE is Global Head of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion at the British Council. In this role she sets and drives the strategic direction of diversity across the organisation based on an applied approach supported by a global pool of colleagues. Fiona holds an M. Phil in Social Policy and a Doctorate in Professional Studies. She is a member of Higher Education Academy and was appointed as an Independent Panel Member for the UK Premier League for professional football clubs.
She was named in the 2014 and 2015 Power Lists of Britain’s most influential black people and the 2015 Women to Watch USA Profiles in Diversity list.
