Simon Trewin - The Agent Business

Tue 08/03/16 7:30 PM - 9:45 PM

The literary agent Simon Trewin talks about how the agent business works.

The literary agent Simon Trewin is the speaker at the March meeting of the Hampshire Writers’ Society.

Simon is amongst the most powerful literary agents working in Britain today. A proverbial mover and shaker, he helped to found United Agents in 2007 but, in a big move, left in June 2012 to become head of the UK literary arm of William Morris Endeavor. WME’s list of global clients – in music, film and writing – includes Lady Gaga, Martin Scorsese, Ridley Scott, and Quentin Tarantino. Simon has said ‘my logic for joining WME is that I wanted my clients to play on the biggest possible canvas they could’. He could hardly be better placed to speak in this evening’s talk about the agent business, including its ways of promoting new talent.
