Winchester Writers' Festival Writing Workout

Sat 14/11/15 10:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Flex your writing muscles at our day-long Writing Workout – six sessions of guided exercises led by experienced creative writing tutors.  Exercise your imagination and unleash new words.

Each 45-minute session will focus on a different aspect such as developing character, investigating setting, creating drama, intensifying language, ‘showing and telling’ and refining narrative point of view.  Experienced tutors will guide you through creative prompts and pathways to stimulate ideas and unlock new writing.  Suitable for beginners as well as more established writers, working in any form or
genre.

Tutors include:
Shelley Harris - author of Jubilee (shortlisted for the Commonwealth Book Prize, a Radio 4 Book at Bedtime and a Richard and Judy Summer Book Club selection) and the recently-published Vigilante.  Shelley is a former teacher and has delivered creative writing workshops at the Faber Academy and the London Writers’ Café.
