Together for the Common Good

Tue 16/06/15 4:45 pm

Panel/discussion: can the Common Good help us re-imagine our cultural, economic and political life?

Following the publication of the book 'Together for the Common Good: Towards a National Conversation', this event brings together some of the book's contributors and others to discuss how the common good can challenge the way we do politics and help us re-imagine our cultural, economic and political life.

Taking part will be Lord Griffiths of Fforestfach, former head of Margaret Thatcher's policy unit and board member of Goldman Sachs; Tehmina Kazi, Director of British Muslims for Secular Democracy; Dr Dave Landrum, Director of Advocacy at the Evangelical Alliance; and Jenny Sinclair, founder of the 'Together for the Common Good' movement inspired by the legacy of her father, Bishop David Sheppard, and others. The discussion will be chaired by the Lord Bishop of Winchester, Rt Rev Tim Dakin, and there will be plenty of time for discussion from the 'floor'. All are welcome and admission is free. Booking in advance is recommended at: http://www.winchester.ac.uk/academicdepartments/theology- religion- andphilosophy/
