Wantage to Winchester Cycle Ride

Now in its 8th year, the W2W is a 53-mile cycle ride from Wantage in Oxfordshire to
Winchester in Hampshire, starting in the birthplace of King Alfred the Great and
finishing at his final resting place.
Along the way, you travel along quiet country lanes along the Vale of the White Horse,
over the Marlborough Downs, across the Thames valley and over the North Hampshire
Downs, then enjoy miles of easy cycling through the sleepy villages of the Bourne
The ride is non-competitive. The organisers provide directions, signs and marshals to keep you on track, and refreshments en route and at the end.
Advance booking is required. Transport is available for bikes and riders from
Winchester to Wantage for the start of the ride, but spaces are limited so book early.
Start: Wantage marketplace. Finish: Winchester Broadway.
