Winchester Festival Opening Concert
Fri 03/07/15 8:00 pm
Southern Voices make a welcome return to the Festival with the intensely spiritual music of Rachmaninov’s Vespers. Originally conceived as part of the Orthodox all-night liturgy, and based on ancient chants, this sequence of music works very well in its concert form. The Cathedral is an ideal setting, where the stones have resonated for centuries with rich choral colours.
