Community Cookery Skills
Thanks to money awarded by a Public Health Funding grant from Hampshire County Council, Winchester City Council will be running another six week course of Community Cookery Skills classes aimed at men over 55 years of age.
The course has had previous success in a number of areas across the Winchester District, Des Holyhead who attended the course in Bishop’s Waltham said ‘my wife was going into hospital, so it was a case of either come on the course or starve!’
The 6 week course will help you gain simple ideas and tips on preparing simple healthy meals.
The next six week course will take place on a Monday afternoon at Winchester Fire Station, Easton Lane, Winnall SO23 0LF. The weekly sessions will be held from 2:00pm - 3.30pm, commencing Monday 19th September, with the last session taking place on Monday 24th October.
In a friendly relaxed atmosphere attendees will consider:
• How to cook a range of simple meals from start to finish
• Food shopping ideas
• Food hygiene & storage
• Importance of healthy eating to your health & wellbeing

The 6 week course costs just £1 per session and all ingredients are provided.
