Get Creative Weekend 2017

Get Creative Weekend

This year’s national Get Creative Weekend takes place on 7, 8 and 9 April. It’s a weekend of free activities - from music to dance, photography to creative writing, painting to crafting.

Winchester City Council is asking arts and culture organisations, community groups, societies and artists to give the residents of the Winchester District an opportunity to get creative.

The council will not be holding a city wide event itself, but is encouraging individual artists and groups to create their own.  Three local organisations:

  • Acting Up Hants
  • Karen Eames Art
  • Denmead Parish Council

have all been awarded £100 towards the cost of holding events from Winchester City Council's Get Creative Cultural Grant Scheme.

Unfortunately this funding scheme has now closed, but there is still time to arrange an event.

Whether it’s your usual activity or something specially planned, put on an event using the Get Creative branding and let us know what you’re up to. The activities themselves should be free and not commercial.

They could be:

  • workshops
  • master-classes
  • performances
  • debates
  • open days
  • talks
  • real world events, or online participation

The details of all events taking place in the Winchester District will be collated and forwarded on to the Get Creative team at the BBC who will promote events on BBC TV, radio and online.
