October 2012 - Issue 31 |
|
The hearings will commence on Tuesday 30 October 2012 at 9.45am in the Guildhall, Winchester (Walton Room), into an examination of the ‘soundness’ of the Local Plan Part 1 -Joint Core Strategy which was submitted in June. The Inspector Nigel Payne held a Pre-hearing meeting on Wednesday 12 September. The notes of that meeting and all other information in relation to the examination can be viewed at http://www.winchester.gov.uk/planning-policy/local-plan-part-1/examination/, including an up-to-date programme of the issues to be discussed and participants at each session. Some sessions refer to
a ‘Parish Council Seat’ – this is for the benefit of those Parish
Councils that may wish to participate in the debate but have not
specifically requested to appear. The Council would advise Parish
Councils to take a look at the programme and any additional submissions
made by the participants to assess whether any of the issues affect
them. Also on the Council’s
website are the additional submissions
which have been received. The Council has made Further
Modifications to the Joint Core Strategy and these were published
on 28 September, and should be read in conjunction with the June
2012 Proposed Modifications. Designation of Denmead Neighbourhood Area Denmead Parish Council applied to Winchester City Council in 2011 to be nominated as a ‘front runner’ under the Government’s Neighbourhood Planning Front Runner Project. They were successful and the City Council formally designated the area to be covered by the Neighbourhood Plan in September, following a six week consultation period. All documentation in relation to this and the wider neighbourhood planning process can be viewed at http://www.winchester.gov.uk/planning-policy/neighbourhood-plans/.
