How do I obtain a love tennis card?
Simply complete the online application form, which can be found under the Love Tennis section at www.riverparkleisurecentre.co.uk. The charge is £30 for one year or £15 for Passport to Leisure members. You will receive a card that will need to be swiped inserted into our access machine at the leisure centre before you play. You then be issued with a unique code to allow access the court at your booked time (Children may apply for a Love Tennis card with parent/guardian permission).
Do I have to be a resident of the Winchester District to join?
No, the card is available to all.
I am on holiday in Winchester or only want to play once or twice, what can I do?
Visitors or residents can play on an ad hoc basis by booking at the leisure centre reception to obtain a code to access the court. River Park Leisure Centre has tennis rackets available for hire and is open seven days a week. Tennis balls can also be purchased at reception.

Please note balls can be purchased from reception for £2.15 each.
Do I get a card for each person in the household?
No. You only have one card per household that any member of the household can use to access the courts. Other members of the family can apply to have their own card but the application fee will apply for each one requested.
Once we have the card do we still have to pay court fees?
All courts are free once you have your card.
Please note if you fail attend for a pre booked session, or do not cancel your session in advance you will charged for the use of the court at full non-member rate. This default charge will be applied to your Love Tennis account, and no further bookings can be made until the default charge has been paid.
Am I tied into a contract?
No. You initially pay for one year’s membership and, if you want to carry on using the courts after that, pay for each year to renew your membership.
What happens if I apply half way through the year? Do I get a reduced fee to pay?
No, there is no reduced fee. From the time we receive your payment that is when your full year starts.
Once we have joined can I relinquish part way through my year?
No, once you have paid for your card, this will last a year and not be part refunded for any reason.
What happens if my card does not work or I lose it?
To keep costs of scheme as low as possible, any broken, faulty or lost cards will cost £3. If you require a replacement please call 01962 848700.
If I’m not renewing my Love Tennis card, do I need to return it?
Should you decide not to renew your card for another year of tennis, we recommend you keep hold of your card in case you decide to reactivate your account at a later date.

How do I book courts?
To book courts visit http. The courts are open 7 days a week and you can play from from 6am to 10pm. Each household can book up to 3 courts per week in one hour slots up to 28 days in advance.
Can I book two courts in a row?
No. You can book one court and if the next session is free then you can stay on and play. You must vacate the court if it has been booked by another person.
How do I cancel courts?
You can cancel either on the website or by calling 01962 848700. Out of courtesy please cancel as soon as you know so others can play. Failure to cancel your booking will result in a default charge for the full rate of the court hire.
What happens if I have booked a court and I turn up and there is another person playing on the court?
Places for People Leisure do not take any responsibility for any disputes that might occur at the facility. However it would be wise to take along a printout of your booking or have it available on your smart phone, in case this happens. If a dispute occurs please contact us on 01962 848700. The name which appears on the booking system will take precedence. Or the individual who can display the ticket (can it display court booking date / time of just the access number)
If I see damage to the courts or anti-social behaviour who should I tell?
If you notice the courts are damaged or unsafe please contact us on 01962 848700 so we can arrange repairs.
If you witness anti-social behaviour, on courts from users that is not in keeping with those set out in the terms and conditions, please also report this on the number above so users can be addressed and appropriate action taken.
