Couch to 5k

Starting 16 February!

The 'Couch to 5K' programme is a running plan developed to help beginners get into running. The programme was designed specifically with beginners in mind and takes in to account all factors and barriers that people face when looking to get in to running.

Couch to 5K

The plan involves three runs per week, with a day of rest in-between, with a different schedule for each of the ten weeks. The plan incorporates running and walking with the aim to build up stamina and reaching achievable goals.

The benefits of running and getting involved in the Couch to 5K programme can include:

      • Improved physical health

      • Improvements to the lungs and heart

      • Weight loss (when combined with a healthy diet)

      • Boost to confidence

      • Reduced stress

Each run will start at River Park Leisure Centre (SO23 7DD) at 6.30pm with the programme kicking off on Thursday 16 February.

The cost to take part is £20 for 10 weeks which is payable on the first week. 

No running experience or fitness level required - all you need is a pair of trainers and good humour!
