Customer Service Centre

Customer Service Centre

The Customer Service Centre is split into two areas. The main customer reception area and the telephone contact centre - main reception is located at City Offices, Colebrook Street, Winchester and is where we see customers with a varied range of queries. Our telephone contact centre deals with some of the telephone calls, emails, faxes and SMS text messages coming into the Council and is located to the rear of the main reception at the City Offices.

Disabled access - The centre is fully accessible by the disabled and provides full facilities including disabled toilets and a hearing loop.

Language support - Support for users whose first language is not English is available - please talk to centre staff if assistance is required.

Textphone and Minicom users - Dial 18001 in front of any of our full telephone numbers to access council services via the British Telecom Text Relay service.

The Reception team includes customer service advisors able to answer a wide variety of customer enquiries as well as dedicated specialists in council tax, housing benefits, parking and planning.

There are comfortable interview suites for meetings with Officers and public access computers are available for visitors to access the Council's own website for information about services and other websites connected with both local and central government as well as free wifi access for customers.

The main objective of the Customer Service Centre is to provide access to information and council services to all Winchester City Council customers. The bright and airy feel to the Centre is welcoming to customers and our specially trained staff are always available to help. The Centre is open from 8.30am - 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am - 4.30pm on Fridays.

To ensure a high level of customer service we aim to deal with many of the queries/enquiries within the reception area. On entering the Centre all visitors will be greeted by an advisor who will discuss with you the reason for your visit. If the enquiry cannot be dealt with at reception then a specialist advisor will look further into it for you, if advice from a specific department within the council is required they will be contacted for further information.

If you have any questions or feedback regarding the service, please do not hesitate to contact us. We would welcome your feedback or comments sent to us through our on-line reporting service which you can access through the  Suggestion Form tab at the top of this page.
