Street Cleansing and Litter
The City Council's street cleansing service is carried out in accordance with the general guidance contained in the Government's Code of Practice on Litter and Refuse. This service includes a mixture of scheduled and ad-hoc responsive cleaning of public highway areas according to usage and volume of traffic.
A litter 'hit squad' can deal with problems at short notice such as fly tipping and road spillages.
Large dead animals (such as deer, badgers, dogs and cats) can be removed from public roads usually by the next working day . If you would like to report a problem please contact the Environment team on the details above.
