Play Strategy
Children and young people in the Winchester District will benefit from a £200,000 investment when a play strategy is put in place.
Early in 2007 the City Council carried out a consultation to find out what children, teenagers, adults and parishes want.
A first draft of the Play Strategy was developed through the findings from a number of consultation exercises and a final version has now been developed in collaboration with local play providers, parish councils, schools, voluntary groups and a range of other partner agencies. It can be found below along with an action plan.
The Big Lottery fund set aside £124 million for the development of Play across England - and the Winchester City Council area was allocated £200,000 based on child population figures and levels of deprivation.
In December 2007 we discovered that our bid was successful.
