Who can we help?
- We can help you if you are 65 or over and:
- You have a disability affecting your sight, balance or walking
- You have recently been discharged from hospital after a fall
- Have had an accident in your home
- You have concerns for home safety or security
How can we help?
Homecheck will help to:
- Reduce home accidents
- Improve home safety
- Improve home security
- Provide practical advice and assistance
- Provide guidance on energy saving measures
We can:
- Make a home visit
- Carry out a safety and security check
- Offer advice on accident prevention in the home
- Arrange to carry out minor safety repairs
We may also provide and fix, free of charge:
- Security bolts
- Window locks
- Door chains and viewers
- Smoke detectors
- Provide advice and guidance on grant aid assistance and home energy savings
We cannot do:
- Major plumbing and electrical repairs
- Carpentry and joinery work
- Painting and decorating
- Roof and guttering repairs
- Loft and tank insulation
- Installation of home intruder alarms
Homecheck Visits
These will be arranged by a Homecheck Officer at a time that is suitable for you. Each officer will produce proper identification and will only enter your home with your consent.
