News from Winchester City Council affects residents living across 250 square miles. Because the district covers such a vast area people read a variety of newspapers and listen to different radio stations to find out what's going on.

Newspapers
The Hampshire Chronicle covers the city of Winchester as well as neighbouring towns and villages. Its sister paper The Daily Echo is based in Southampton and also covers news stories from Winchester. The News is a Portsmouth-based daily paper with editions covering Fareham and Meon and Waterlooville and East Hant which include news from towns in the south of the district.

Radio Stations
The district is covered by a range of radio stations including Ocean FM, Original 106, Wave, Power FM and Win FM.
