Planning and Access

In August the University of Winchester appointed architecture plb to the project and it is anticipated that they will be applying to Winchester City Council for planning permission in December 2006.

Access and transport issues to the site are being addressed to ensure that the new facilities cause minimal disruption to local residents. The site benefits from close proximity to the Bar Field Park & Ride site and it is hoped that this will be used as the main car park for the sports centre with a well-lit access path being provided to ensure safe access.
