Crafts

Crafts can be defined as arts objects which are both decorative and functional, for example glass, ceramics, pottery, textiles, silver and fine metal work, wood, weaving, furniture and art jewellery. The design or making of these objects is done by craftspeople or makers, and we sometimes hear these described as decorative or applied arts.

Winchester District is home or workplace to many gifted crafts makers and designers, including students and graduates of Winchester School of Art.
