Adult and Community Learning
The Adult and Community Learning Unit, run by Hampshire County Council secures quality learning opportunities for the people of Hampshire and promotes best practice among providers. The Unit is primarily funded by the LSC, the organisation that exists to make England better skilled and more competitive
New Learndirect learning centres are being set up all over the country, in libraries, shopping centres and other places where it's easy to drop in. You can also learn at work, or even at home.
Nextstep Hampshire & Isle of Wight is a partnership of learning organisations from Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. They have come together to offer you over 20,000 opportunities to improve your skills and knowledge
If you are out of work, your local Jobcentre will have lots of information on training and learning opportunities or go to www.worktrain.gov.uk
Adult Learners Week in England and Wales is co-ordinated by NIACE (the national organisation for adult learning). There is more information about it on the NIACE website at www.niace.org.uk/
