Olympics Action Plan
Following a public meeting last year we have already started work on an Olympics Action Plan. Among other ideas, residents suggested ways to get schools involved, develop more accessible facilities, and encourage grass roots participation in sport. The recently launched Youth Council has also been considering ways to involve young people in developing these plans.
Much of the work so far has been led by the District's Sport and Physical Activity Alliance, who have done a great job in giving Winchester a headstart. But remember that 2012 is not all about sport: September sees the beginning of a four year Cultural Olympiad across the country - a giant festival of the best of UK talent.
