Mobile Homes
The Caravan Sites and Control of Development Act 1960 provides that, subject to planning consent and certain exemptions, all caravan sites, single or multiple must be licensed by the local authority.
The Act also provides for conditions to be attached to each licence to regulate the health, safety and amenity provision for the benefit of the residents on each site. Licence conditions control the layout, spacing, access, fire precautions and provision of various services and facilities.
As the licensing authority, the City Council will inspect licensed sites annually to assess the condition of each site, to identify any breaches of conditions and observe progress/improvements made to comply with the policy of gradual implementation of any previously required on site changes.
The Council will investigate complaints regarding the condition of all sites and will arrange for either informal consultation or formal enforcement action as appropriate to remedy any breaches of license conditions.
