Who can use the Scheme?
Hampshire Home Choice can be used by everyone on the Housing Register or on the transfer list of Winchester, East Hampshire or Havant from 22 April 2009.
To apply to join the Hampshire Home Choice Housing Register you must be over 16 years of age. If you 16 or 17 years of age, you may not be actively considered for an offer of an introductory or assured tenancy until you reach the age of 18.
Vulnerable and hard to reach groups
To ensure that everyone is able to take part in the scheme, a number of measures will be put in place to protect vulnerable people from being disadvantaged. We will:
- Provide appropriate advice and assistance
- Translate key documents where necessary
- Provide information in other formats where necessary
- Develop partnership working with support agencies
- Undertake monitoring and regular reviews of the allocations policies
- Hold a list of customers who require additional help with the scheme
- Implement a full monitoring system to ensure vulnerable people are using the scheme successfully
