Community Grants
Winchester City Council offers three grant schemes for community organisations.
1. Community Revenue Grant
Revenue Grants are aimed at supporting voluntary groups and organisations in the District that can clearly demonstrate how their services help to deliver on the City Council's Sustainable Community Strategy.
This grants programme is primarily aimed at funding for core organisational running / support costs although funding for time limited projects may also be available.
Activities must directly benefit residents of the Winchester District and priority will be given to those organisations who are based within the District and whose area of benefit is primarily the Winchester District.
2. Community Capital Grant
Voluntary and community-run organisations in the Winchester District can apply for a capital grant towards improvements, renovations or new build of community facilities.
Consideration can also be given to the purchase of major specialised equipment - for example staging, lighting, sound equipment - which can be demonstrated will increase the community usage of the building.
Parish based organisations are also required to secure financial support from their Parish Council/Meeting.
3. Small Grants Scheme
Grants of up to £500 are available for projects/activities that fall within the following schemes:
- Biodiversity Projects
- Carbon Reduction
- Community Chest
- Community Planning
We also provide advice and a free online search facility for organisations seeking grants and funding.
Winchester4Community provides access to a wide range of information on sources of funding for organisations and projects, including information specific to the local Winchester and Hampshire areas.
