Housing Application Form
Winchester City Council is giving you more choice in housing services through Hampshire Home Choice - a new choice based lettings system that is moving the emphasis from the City Council deciding which property is right for you, to applicants deciding for which property they wish to bid.
Hampshire Home Choice, a joint scheme run by East Hampshire District Council, Havant Borough Council and Winchester City Council, will be live on 22 April 2009.
Any prospective applicant will need to complete a Hampshire Home Choice Application Form. Please login to our dedicated website www.hampshirehomechoice.org.uk or click on the Hampshire Home Choice logo above. Alternatively you can request an application form by post. Please phone 01962 840 222 to request a form. However, Online forms are processed more speedily and if eligible, your application will be registered quickly if you complete the online form.
We will assess the information on the application form and request further information if required. You will be contacted within 7 - 10 working days of our receiving you application form, to inform you whether or not your application has been accepted. If accepted, you will be added to the Housing Register and you will receive your registration number and the band in which you have been placed.
You will be contacted again each year to confirm that you still wish to remain on the register. In the meantime, it is vital that you keep us informed of any changes to your contact details or to any circumstances which may affect you application.
Homeswapper - Want to exchange?
Winchester City Council now subscribes to the national "Homeswapper" website that allows you to advertise your property and search for others looking to exchange. Take a look at the website www.homeswapper.co.uk. Registration and advertising is free to Council tenants.
The Mutual Exchange list will move across to "Homswapper" in the next few months and we will write to everyone on the list explaining the changes. The list will still be available at our Customer Service Centre for people who do not have internet access.
