Active Lifestyle Classes


Community Classes

Our community classes are developed with you and your local area in mind and are put on to be available and accesible for adults of all ages. Offering between 30 minutes and 1 hour of light to moderate activity these classes can really help to benefit your health and wellbeing! The classes are based in both rural and urban areas and will really help to provide you with the first steps towards leading an active and healthy lifestyle!

Details of the current classes we run can be found below! Although there is currently a limited number of courses we are continuing to work on new courses in local areas and will be running a number of innovative and new sessions from April 2010. Please continue to watch this space and see what classes become available.

Deep Water Aqua - A totally non impact Aqua class ideal for those suffering from back problems, arthritis or recovering from injury

Stretch and Flex - Combines breathing exercises, physical postures and meditation to relax your mind and strengthen your body in a calmed environment.

Fit Ball - Provide a fun, challenging and safe workout. Sessions improve your balance, posture, body awareness & co-ordination by using a stability ball to strengthen your abdominal muscles and core stability.

Later Life Classes

These classes are specifcally aimed at the over 55s age group and delivered primarily from our Sheltered Housing Schemes. The classes are now also accessible to members of the public. A typical session will be based aroung taking part in a number of gentle warm-up body movements to then lead to mixture of soft and easy seated and standing exercises based around improving balance and co-ordination. There are a number of potential benefits of comign to these sessions including easing joint pain, reducing stiffness, increasing mobility and maintaing balance.

The classes also provide an excellent opportunity for you to meet and make new friends in a fun environment so why not find your local class below and pop in for a session! The first session is FREE and from then on they only cost £2.50 a session!
