What You Can Do
Everyone has a role in creating a sustainable community and a sustainable world.
Agreements made at world summits, national government legislation, and the actions of local government are all important, but they cannot achieve the aim of sustainability by themselves.
The actions each of us take as individuals every day affect other people and the environment in which we live. Therefore, we can all make positive steps towards benefiting others and the environment. Similarly, a community, school or business can all take action towards sustainability.
Click on the other links in this section to find more details of what you can do in these areas. You will also find details of the projects and programmes promoted by Winchester City Council that can help, and links to other organisations who can provide further help and information.
Many local organisations, groups and individuals are already actively involved in working to tackle local issues and improve life. Are you or your organisation doing something that is working towards a better future? If so, please contact us, we'd like to know about it!
