Commercial Waste - Trade Collections

Winchester City Council is not responsible for the collection and disposal of commercial or business refuse. This includes all matters relating to trade bins, clinical waste and commercial spillages.

Private arrangements for commercial refuse collection can be made privately through Serco, who can be contacted on 01962 828428.

Hazardous Commercial Waste
Since 16th July 2004 the EU landforce directive had been in force in the UK. As a result of this, hazardous waste will either be pre-treated and disposed of in special landfill sites or converted into a form safe for the envioronment and disposed of in special areas in normal landfill sites.

Currently in the south of England there are no landfill sites that can accept hazardous waste. For more information visit the Environment Agency website
