Community Chest Scheme
Small Grants Scheme
This scheme was launched in April 2004 and aims to make small grants more accessible to local voluntary and community groups.
For 2011-12 the scheme is being run on behalf of Winchester City Council by Winchester Area Community Action (WACA).
Grants of up to £500 are available for one-off pieces of expenditure if projects.
Your organisation needs to be a not-for-profit voluntary organisation, community group or a registered charity running activities or projects that benefit the residents of the Winchester District.
Applications are invited from all charitable community and voluntary groups but applicants should note that priority is likely to be given to those organisations that can demonstrate that their project is linked to the delivery of one or more of the Winchesters Community Strategy priorities. The priorities are:
- Promote the wellbeing of older people
- Improve access to services
- Reduce the district's carbon footprint
- Improve quality of life in the Stanmore neighbourhood, Winchester
- Improve quality of life in the Winnall neighbourhood, Winchester.
