Pest Control
Under the Prevention of Damage by Pests Act 1949, all Councils have a statutory duty to control rats within their area. Winchester City Council's Health and Housing department is responsible for the provision of the Council's Pest Control Service. The service is carried out by the Council's contractors Serco, who can provide a comprehensive range of treatments in a professional and discreet manner.
Domestic properties
Domestic properties are entitled to the treatment of rats and mice free of charge. Information and advice regarding the identification and treatment of other household pests is also provided free of charge. Surveys and treatments of wasps, fleas, flies, carpet beetles, larder beetles, cockroaches and other insect pests are charged at competitive rates.
Commercial premises
Commercial premises will be charged competitive rates for the treatment of rats, mice and other insect pests either on a single treatment or contract basis.
