Health and Safety


The Commercial Team at Winchester City Council is responsible for the enforcement of health and safety regulations in over 2000 premises such as offices, hotels, restaurants, warehouses and shops. Responsibility is shared with the Government's Health and Safety Executive, which is responsible for inspecting manufacturing industries, construction and agriculture.

Hotelier fined for health and safety offences

Brian Lay of Uplands Park Hotel, Droxford was fined £750 at Fareham Magistrates Court on the 28th May 2008 for failing to comply with health and safety legislation.
