WinACC is running another course for
new low carbon champions. The course, led by WinACC's
experienced team, consists of an introductory session on
Thursday 25 February followed by four further sessions on
Thursday 4, 11, 18 and 25 March. Each will be held
at the United Church, Jewry Street, Winchester SO23 8RZ,
starting at 7.15pm and finishing at 9.15pm.
What is a Low Carbon Champion? Low
carbon champions work to cut their own carbon footprint and support
others wanting to do the same. A low carbon champion does not
have to be an expert, the course will provide a basic knowledge of
climate change, and what people and organisations can do about it.
Introductory session - Thursday 25
February
Providing an overview of the course as a
whole and giving you the opportunity to:
- find out about the role of low carbon champion
- discuss what matters to you about climate change, and your own
aims and aspirations
- identify the experience you would bring to the role, along
with the skills you will need
- learn about the support that WinACC offers.
Course - Thursdays: 4, 11, 18 and 25
March
By the end of the course, the new low carbon
champions will:
- understand enough about climate change and its causes to feel
able to engage with other people
- know what people can do to reduce carbon emissions and what
they themselves plan to do
- understand how people change their behaviour
- understand what is expected of low carbon champions and the
practical ways that WinACC will support them.
