Since the launch of Blueprint on 4 October some 318 packs have been
distributed to a wide range of organisations across the Winchester
District.
Many
Parish Councils are in the process of organising events by booking diary
dates and venues – so if you want to find out what’s happening locally
contact your Parish Council. Alternatively set up your own discussion with
a group of friends or colleagues, use our list of community venues
- a link to which can be found - www.community-blueprint.co.uk/run-event/
- to find somewhere to hold your debate or use a local pub or school or
even someone’s front room. The purpose of Blueprint is to tell us what
local needs exist in your area particularly in terms of housing,
employment and community provision now that Government housing targets no
longer exist.
Visit our website www.community-blueprint.co.uk
for further details.
Let us have your Blueprint ‘Top Tips’ – if
you have run a Blueprint event tell us your successes and pass on any
suggestions to others through emailing LDF@winchester.gov.uk and we will
update the Blueprint webpages. The Blueprint consultation closes
on 10 December 2010.

October’s Blueprint Top Tip
T
ake the time to prepare for your
event
There’s lots of data on the website which will provide
useful background material in terms of house prices, population changes
etc all of which will help inform your debate so that you have a
meaningful discusssion and come to some useful conclusions about what is
needed long term in your community.
Draft Infrastructure Delivery Plan
The City Council has also just about to publish its draft
Infrastructure Delivery Plan for comment. This focusses on the wider
Winchester District so it may provide some useful background information
for Blueprint– you may also want to comment on it. It will soon be
able to be viewed on the website and any comments should be sent to the
LDF Team LDF@winchester.gov.uk
by 10 December 2010.
Interim
Policy Aspirations
Given that it will be some time before
the LDF Core Strategy or Development Management and Allocations DPD can be
adopted by the Council. The Council is producing some ‘Interim Policy
Aspirations’ for a small number of key policy areas.
These are expected to be adopted as non-statutory policy aspirations in
January 2011. They will be ‘material considerations’ for planning
applications considered after their adoption and the purpose of publishing
them now is to raise awareness with applicants and planning agents so that
they can be taken into account when preparing planning applications and
developing proposals.
