Dear
@Name@
Welcome to the first edition of our Live for the Future
newsletter
Winchester
City Council wants to help local communities become more
sustainable, which means they are not only great places to live,
work and do business - but they also take care of the environment
and leave a good legacy for future generations.
We are working
towards two important documents, the Local Development Framework and
the Community Strategy: both look forward twenty years and will help
us maintain and develop our communities so that the way we live in
2026 is how we all want it to be. |

|

|
what is a sustainable
community? |

|
|

|
|
|
Sustainable communities have: * Social
and Cultural
Wellbeing * A Flourishing and
Diverse Local Economy * Good Transport Services and
Communications * Environmental
Wellbeing * Access to a Full Range of
Services * Good
Governance |

We have had a great response already to
the Live for the Future campaign, but we want to reach as many
people in our communities as possible, so why not encourage friends
family and colleagues to get involved - why not forward this email
to them? |
|
|

|
|
|

|
So far we
have held two excellent events and people are enjoying the
experience. But what should you expect? These meetings are not about
being talked at or listening for hours; we want you to be at the
heart of the meeting and join in to answer questions, tell us where
you shop, work, spend your leisure time and get talking about the
issues that concern you. So if you haven't already why not come
along and join in with your community |

the
process
This is the first stage of our Live for
the Future campaign and in the autumn we will be asking you about
the issues and options that have arisen from the questionnaires and
events.
You will
receive feedback from the events and consultation on the various
plans and strategies the Live for the Future campaign feeds
into by being subscribed to this e-newsletter, so look out for
future
editions. | |

Why not fill in our online questionnaire
now - it should only take a few minutes and will be really important
for us to start making plans to develop our communities the way you
want us to. |
