Winchester City Council's Rural Planning Workshop Rural Planning Seminar 2012 This event is designed to give specific advice to rural businesses who are thinking about applying for planning permission, are in the process of applying to further develop their existing business or are aspiring to start a new enterprise. The key note speaker, George Hollingbery MP, the Member of Parliament for Meon Valley, will talk to rural businesses about what is happening at a national level to cut red tape to help local businesses prosper. This workshop is one of a number of improvements Winchester City Council is introducing to help rural businesses with the planning process. The council has also identified two existing planners to act as Rural Business Advisors and is producing an easy to follow booklet entitled Planning Guidance for Rural Businesses. Spaces for the workshop are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Pre-booking is essential and can be done via email to Alison Woods at Winchester City Council at awoods@winchester.gov.uk or by telephone on 01962 848 563 by 12 January 2012. Service Leavers

South Hampshire Meet the Buyer The South Hampshire Meet the Buyer event will be held on
Thursday 29 March 2012 at the Rose Bowl in Southampton. This event enables
major buying organisations within South Hampshire to meet local suppliers
face-to-face. At last year’s event 120 suppliers pitched to 22 large
buyers including Marwell Wildlife, Southern Water, Sparsholt College and
the University of Winchester. The event helps to build local supply chains and is funded by the South
Hampshire Meet the Buyer Partnership, which includes Eastleigh Borough
Council, Hampshire County Council, New Forest District Council, Test
Valley Borough Council and Winchester City Council. For more information, or to reserve your place, contact Janet Maxwell
