Welcome to the seventh
edition of The Winchester Entrepreneur, the e-newsletter for businesses
from Winchester City Council. In this issue you can find out more about
LEADER funding and other work happening to help businesses during the
recession. Do let us know if there are other stories you would like us to
cover, so that we can make this magazine useful to you, our local business
community. Best wishes Cllr George Beckett Leader and Portfolio Holder for Economy and Tourism, Winchester City Council Inspiration and
spirit of local Enterprise 09
The facilitated networking sessions will introduce delegates to other
local business people in the networking café. Business advice booths will
offer a free 15 minute advice session with business advisers and experts,
lawyers and accountants. Human potential clinics can help identify how
delegates can achieve more with a free 15 minute taster session from a
business or personal coach.
This is part of our ongoing commitment for helping businesses and
budding entrepreneurs develop in the local economy. Customer Service Hat Trick We moved a step closer to our goal
of achieving Customer Service Excellence accreditation across the whole
council on 27 March, when Economic and Cultural Services joined Landlord
Services and Customer Service as holders of the new standard. At the feedback session, the assessor commented on several aspects of the service which had impressed him; the sense of clarity across the division in understanding customers' needs, the tailored approach to dealing with the many different types of customers, the culture of quality and the overall passion staff demonstrated for the services they provide. 97% would recommend Winchester to a friend! Tourism South East have undertaken a residents and visitors survey in Winchester on behalf of the City Council, revealing encouraging results about Winchester. Customers were asked questions about shops, eateries and their overall city centre experience which gave outstanding results.
