Opportunities to work
with the Council Winchester City Council has
adopted a 'commissioning approach; which puts our customers first. We
commission in different ways to make positive changes for the Winchester
community, and opportunities for local businesses can take the form of
one-off contracts, annual grants or partnership agreements. When we
commission goods or services we look for innovation, value for money and a
genuine understanding of the needs of the Winchester District. Find out
more about this approach on our Commissioning
page
The Council's contracts are generally advertised on the South East
Business Portal where you can register for alerts to be sent to you
and you can find out more about current opportunities.
'Wheels to Work' Moped Loan
Scheme The scheme is designed
for young people aged 16 to 25 who do not have access to public or private
transport. If a young person lives or works in a rural area where no
transport is available, a moped could enable them to get to work or attend
vocational training or interviews.
They would receive a 50cc moped/scooter, fully
taxed and insured with breakdown and service cover. The scheme also
provides the hirer with a helmet, gloves and hi-vis vest. The hirer has to
provide a provisional (or full) license for motorcycles and pass
Compulsory Basic Training (CBT). If they haven’t passed the CBT, the
scheme will fund the training. The cost of the moped is £15 per
week.
For more information please contact Alison
Wells on 0845 521 6405, mopedloan@cfnf.org.uk or at
