Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD)
The Index of Multiple Deprivation measures relative deprivation across the country. This enables comparisons to be made between districts and between areas within local authorities. The IMD is updated regularly and the links on the left will take you to information for 2000, 2004 and 2007.
Up to 2004 the smallest area of comaprison was ward level (26 in Winchester). Since 2004 the areas used for the comparison are known as a Super Output Areas, there are 69 of these in the Winchester area. This link will take you to a map and index of those areas.
